Taking us back to the present for this post! Laken is nine months old today!

I've really taken this week to just soak up the last of summer. We have had some really nice weather so Laken, Rebel and I have been up at the cottage enjoying th lake. I'm feeling all the feelings about Laken being nine months old. It doesn't seem real that time could move this fast!

This week we have been swimming, playing outside, going on boat rides and just enjoying our little family. Laken loves being in the water. He sits on the shore and splashes in the water. I'll carry him out into deeper water for him to practice floating and kicking. Sometimes he'll sit in his little floaty and I'll swim and push him around. He loves it all! He's so much more aware of things now. I see him looking at the frogs on the beach or tracking a big bird flying over head. His little mind is learning so many things! By the end of the day he is crashing hard and sleeping through the night. That fresh air and swimming really tires him out!

This summer with him has been amazing. He won't remember it but I definitely will. All the road trips to visit family and friends. TIme spent at the cottage and time with just the three of us in our little apartment. All these little moments have been burned in my memory.

Some days are hard, the hormones are crazy, but I am doing my best to just soak up all these little moments and commit them to memory. If you are going through a tough time with your little one just take a moment to breath. Hold them close, smell their baby smells, and know that while this moment in time is hard, it won't last and that baby will continue to grow! Is anyone working on a way to slow down time?
